This huge annual festival, claiming to be the biggest of its kind in the UK, takes over most of Brighton for three weeks in May. Theatre, opera, dance, stand-up comedy, screenings and kids events fill indoor and outdoor venues all over the place.

In 2007, the festival will include seven world premieres and three UK premieres. Parades, street performances and fireworks are free. And the Brighton Fringe Festival, running alongside, offers even more for adults, kids and night owls.
