Historic Sussex Hotels has a new, good value deal for golfers. The group's Spread Eagle Hotel and Spa in Midhurst is offering dinner, bed and breakfast - plus a round of golf - at award winning Cowdray Park Golf Club for £149.50 per person - based on two sharing a traditional room. Cowdray Park, an 18-hole, par 70, 6,212-yard course is considered by many golfers to be one of the most beautiful courses in the south of England. The Spread Eagle, a classic coaching inn dating from 1430, is close to the antique shops, historic houses and gardens of Midhurst. To book, visit the

It's Free! My Favorite Phrase
When it comes to saving money, nothing beats that little four-letter word "Free".
Visit Wales, the official Welsh Tourism organization, is clued up on that. In connection with the launch of their
new website, they've produced a list of the

They range from the quirky National Wool Museum in Carmarthenshire to The Big Pit, a real coal mine and UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can explore the history of coal mining, iron works and the industrial revolution.
The attractions are mostly family friendly. And all provide a live link for more information. Check out their website.

The Great British Heritage Pass, offered by VisitBritain to visitors from outside the United Kingdom, is one of the best deal's I've seen in a long time. For one flat fee -covering 4, 7, 15 or 30 days - pass holders get full admission to almost 600 different sites; family passes, for two adults and three kids under 16 are available too. Good value? Well VisitBritain compiled the cost of single adult tickets to the top 15 UK sites. The price came to £141.60. The cost of a
Great British Heritage Pass for 15 days was £52 - that's a savings of £89. Even if you spread those 15 site visits over a month long pass (£70), you'd still save £71.60. That sounds like a great deal to me.
