The Clarence is a real find. It's within walking distance of both Windsor Castle and Legoland, and its prices are remarkably family friendly for this part of town.Rooms are fresh and pretty, with swags of chintz decorating windows and beds and sparkling, if slightly old fashioned, bathrooms.
The family rooms can be arranged for parties of three or four, though they do seem a bit crowded and full of beds when arranged for four. Still Windsor has so much to do that it's unlikely you'll be spending a lot of time in your room anyway -- and for the price its hard to go wrong. The hotel has singles, doubles and twin rooms too.
Breakfast (included, along with taxes in the rate) is served in sunny, yellow and green dining room, decorated with ivy and looking over a charming walled garden. In good weather you can have breakfast or tea out there. And just across the garden, in a separate building, is a luxuriously fitted out steamroom -- a real surprise.
